WINDOWS

The right style of window can completely change the way your home looks and how you see the world outside.

At Crystal Clear we have a wide range of styles to select from and will help you choose the style of frame and material that is right for you and your home.

Security is always the prime concern when replacing windows. Our windows are all internally beaded, so it is virtually impossible to break in from the outside. With high security locking systems and toughened glass where necessary, you can rest assured your home is protected.

We are experienced in dealing with period properties and can supply quality upvc windows with all the details of your original sash window – but with improved security. Features such as sash horns and mouldings are all one unit, so there will be no joins or gaps to spoil the look.

Our windows meet the new FENSA regulations and we are constantly appraised by the BBA, to ensure that our customers are receiving the very best quality with all the necessary components required by law.

When installing windows we aim to keep any disruption to a minimum, and leave the room clean and tidy at the end of each day.

CONSERVATORIES

Is your current conservatory too hot in summer and too cold in winter?

Utilise the latest technology by changing your standard conservatory roof to the new ‘Solid Roof’, thermally efficient to keep temperatures constant throughout the year without rebuilding your existing conservatory.

Conservatories are an extension of your home into your garden and visa versa, and will improve your quality of life all year round.

We will help you turn your dream into reality, and create a beautiful room in your own private landscape.

We use only the very best materials, and are careful to source materials that will match your existing property ensuring the building blends seamlessly together.

Security is of great importance to us, and our conservatories are constructed to the highest specifications. All windows and doors have multipoint locking systems, and all glass units are made from toughened safety glass.

It takes approximately two weeks to complete a conservatory, but you can rest assured that the site will be left tidy and secure at the end of every day. A skip will be on site to keep any disruption to you to a minimum. We have outlined the basic process of construction for you so that you know what to expect at every stage.

Don’t forget to look at our gallery of conservatories, and read our customer testimonials.

The process of construction is as follows:

  • The ground is excavated to a minimum of 500mm deep for the footings.
  • If drainage pipes are exposed, they will be bridged with concrete lintels.
Concrete is poured into the trench to a minimum of 150mm thick, and is levelled for building.
  • The inner leaf of the cavity wall is laid to a minimum of 100mm and compacted to form the base layer of the slab.
  • A binding of sand is laid over the hardcore to prevent any sharp stones puncturing the damp proof membrane.
  • A 1200 gauge visqueen damp proof membrane is laid over the sand blinding, and lapped onto the inner leaf of brickwork. Optional floor insulation can be installed at this point.
  • Concrete is laid to 100mm to bring slab up to floor level and is then floated to provide a smooth level surface for the flooring of your choice.
  • The outer leaf of the cavity wall is built up to complete the base work, installing optional insulation at this point if required.
  • The frames are installed onto the brickwork, followed by the roof. Lead flashing will be cut into the house wall and finished carefully.
  • If the conservatory is installed in a very exposed location, it may be necessary to use a cavity tray which will provide extra protection against the weather.
  • Flooring, tiling, electrics and carpentry can all be undertaken by our team of experienced and friendly staff, and any requirements that you have will be undertaken at the appropriate stage.
